SUMMARY:

Aunt Julia and the Scriptwriter is an original production by the Off-Broadway company Repertorio Español. Based on the semi-autobiographical novel of the same title by Nobel Prize winner Mario Vargas Llosa, Aunt Julia and the Scriptwriter is a romantic comedy adapted for the stage by OBIE Award Winner Caridad Svich. The production premiered in October of 2015 in NYC and continues playing at Repertorio Español. Diego Chiri's original involvement with the production was as the Assistant Director of José Zayas, but later on he went on to take the role of Javier, Mario's best friend. Aunt Julia and the Scriptwriter has received several awards in the 2015-2016 Theatre season.
